The Caracol Glorifier: The Design

By William Brantingham

I'd consider this to be this company's definitive breakthrough project. Titanium tequila is a quickly growing high-end distillery with its headquarters in Houston. They're projecting a modern, luxurious brand image in their market, and they needed a bartop glorifier to fit that image. Since it is tequila, a product of Mexican culture, that's where the design journey began. Luckily for me, Mexican culture also has a long and varied history of ritual platforms and temple structures in several distinct architectural styles. I first experimented with pyramidal designs. While there were several that I thought came out very well and honestly was pretty fond of, I knew that their manufacture was going to be cost-prohibitive. So I took step back and reviewed the source material that I had to work with, and what stuck with me after a few hours of contemplation was the star prominently displayed in the logo (It's very nice, modernist logo, lots of simple sline curves and sharp edges. Hats off to the graphic designer).

Titanium only gives these out to distributors, but their high quality tequila is available to all.
